Make May Day Celebration

April 30 9 am - 1 pm Saturday Market - Vista Park Warren May Day Crafts, a Maypole, and park Parade Crafts: - May baskets -crowns- card making, T-shirt stenciling. Bring a t-shirt for stenciling!!

Let’s honor workers and celebrate Spring! It’s a mini MAKE event at the Vista Park Saturday Market. Central School will be set up with art making tables making crowns, decorating baskets, and stenciling with fabric paint on t-shirts, and making a Mother’s Day Card or any greeting card at all! Make a May basket and surprise a friend or neighbor with it. The May Day basket tradition was common for generations but has been lost it seems! Children decorate little baskets with paper flowers and crepe paper- and they spread goodwill and happiness by leaving the basket on the step of a neighbor, stranger, or friend anonymously. Adults are also welcome to the tables!

The Maypole will be festooned with ribbons for dancing and we have percussion instruments for kids of all ages to parade to the May Pole. A big thank you to Bisbee High School students Mia Potenza, Ember Gulden and Scout Day for their creativity and leadership on this. This event is funded in part by the Bisbee Foundation and Arizona Commission on the Arts
