Call to Artists: We Want your Art!
Show dates:
Friday November 22 - Sunday, December 8
Central School is holding the annual ReMake Art Show this fall. This exhibition calls for our creative community to work in the art of assemblage, harnessing the power of discarded junk, manufactured items, shiny things, scraps, ephemera, and bereft materials. We ask that the art is made entirely, or in part, of things not intended as art materials.
Artists Drop off and registration day is Monday Nov 18th from 11am - 6:30pm
Pick Up day is Monday Dec 9th
Artists can enter up to 2 pieces:
$5.00 per piece
Show runs through Dec 8th
Assemblage was intrinsic to Futurist, dadaist, and Surrealist art and has never ceased being a compelling form. Pablo Picasso, Kurt Schwitters, Marcel Duchamp, Louise Nevelsen, Jasper Johns, Betye Sayre, Robert Rauschenberg, Joseph Cornell, and Mike Kelly are just a handful of artists that embraced assemblage and found object art. The form was revolutionary in its inception and has gone on to be a means of examining our culture or to simply have fun.
Bisbee is a town full of found object gatherer/creators so don't disappoint us!
