Nonfiction writer Luc Sante has a show of collages
Visit the James Fuentes gallery to take a look this humble genius’s work.
Luc had a love of photography and ephemera and has dedicated his writing life to cultural history. He captures the often unseen and forgotten; the corners of culture that can bring us closer to the truth than prevailing historical narratives. He came up in the New York underground scene of the late 60s,70s and 80s when lower Manhatten was considered undesirable – a perfect biome for art and music to flourish. During that period his collage appeared in xeroxed zines, and band fliers.
