UNEARTHING - Reflections on the Phelps Dodge legacy in Bisbee

Writer: Central School ProjectCentral School Project

Thursday May 16th 5:30-7:00pm

Join us on May 16 as CSP Scholar-in-residence Katie Benton-Cohen reflects on her five-month sabbatical in Bisbee, and what she has learned about the Phelps-Dodge Mining Company’s impact—and afterlife—in the region.

Katie’s work here is part of a larger, global history she is writing on the impact of the Phelps-Dodge family and company in Arizona, New York, and the modern Middle East.

In her talk, Katie will offer a brief reading from her work-in-progress and discuss how she sees the past and present co-habitate in Bisbee.

Please join us, too, as Katie offers thanks to the warm Bisbee community who

have made her work a joy.
